LA traffic… need I say more. Those of us who live in LA County know the struggle of being stuck in traffic. And don’t even get me started on finding street parking. I remember having an internship in West Hollywood where the parking wasn’t provided to us. Oh how I dreaded driving up there. Not only is parking scarce, but all the rules you have to follow and the local residents’ questionable parking abilities made me want to take an Uber to work. Certain streets only allow 1-hour parking or if you’re lucky, you could grab a spot on the 2-hour parking. Can’t forget the street sweeping schedule which practically calls for a parking apocalypse. Insane parking rates in shady structures are reason enough to want to ditch your car and ride the metro.
While there’s no saying if traffic on your way to LA will ever be decongested or the street parking will get better, there is a silver lining. Parking structures will be making it easier to find a spot to park your car. West Hollywood recently unveiled a one of a kind futuristic parking structure set to open June 5th.
Say goodbye to having to drive around the structure before finding a parking spot. This robotic structure does it for you. This will both reduce carbon footprints and the trouble you go through when looking for parking. All you have to do is park your car in one of the four available ground-level entry bays, grab a ticket, and the garage takes care of finding a spot for your car. This newly automated garage contains 200 spots and will pave the way for the future of parking structures. While this is a magnificent idea we will have to wait and see how successful it is when dealing with a large amount of people trying to get their cars all at the same time.
