Laptops aren’t usually replaced as often as phones; they have a 5-10-year life span at least, for me that is. They are significantly more expensive than cell phones and have sentimental value. My current laptop has been with me through different milestones. It was with me since the beginning of college back in 2011. It saw me cry, procrastinate, look up conspiracy theories, work on papers at the last minute, and it was there through finals… it’s been a support system without which I couldn’t have gotten anything done in college. Ok, enough going down memory road, Apple finally announced their newest MacBook models and people of course have mixed feelings.
Like with the iPhone 7, Apple tried to do something different and decided to get rid of a trivial component that most computer users need. It replaced a trivial component with something we could do without but that’s apple for you. Will it stop people from buying the laptop? Nope, it comes with the brand name. They are going to release three models; two 13-inch models, one with a touch bar and the other without and a 15-inch model with the touch bar.
The new models will have a 10-hour battery life and the touch bar. The touch bar is a touch screen component that changes to fit whatever program you’re currently using. I think my favorite part is that I’ll finally be able to use emojis!
