Seem like there has been a mission to eliminate wires for good. With all these new innovation technologies. Many companies have started to introduce the idea of being able to charge phones, tablets, and smartwatches from across the room, while all at the same time wirelessly. Energous based in San Jose, California is one of the companies working to introduce these new technologies.
This development among others has been in the works for years. Early wireless charging technologies have been slowly to catch on. Devices need long battery life to be useful, successful application so called Wireless Charging 2.0 would help techs and entrepreneurs alike solve the problem of mobility. However, there seems to be some issues that will arise as these new technologies continue to expand.
There will be hurdles ahead. One major hurdle that is already causing this wireless innovation to take a toll is the efficiency issues. Which range from radio frequency waves to ultrasound to lasers. Decreased efficiency of power transfer across distance must be considered. Then there is the matter of convincing manufacturers to embrace these technologies.
Alex Gruzen CEO of WiTricity, the industry pioneer in the wireless power transfer over distance said,” The move to eliminate wires is happening everywhere.” To make wireless charging a reality it will need to rule charging at a long distance. So look forward to wireless charging in 2017.
