For all you sport fanatics there are new technologies coming through across the board from Disney to the Major League Baseball. As many of you might know Disney owns live sports ESPN. Well recent news is that Walt Disney officially owns a large portion of BAMtech. A technology company spun off from digital media company MLB Advanced Media.
Disney CEO Bob Iger on an interview with Closing Bell, said “We think it is a good investment. “We love the business model. We think that in today’s world having the ability to stream on a scaled basis, live sports and live programming is a competitive advantage and something that is necessary.” I couldn’t agree better myself with that statement, live sports remain one of the main things people tune in on Television. This new partnership that has become the largest investment from Disney is looking forward to the changes that will bring the multi-sport service directly to the fans. Embracing the technology to create new ways to reconnect fans with sports.
Disney will share more details about the ESPN branded service in the months ahead. BAMTech will become a key partner for Disney in the delivery and support of streaming videos and other digital products from Disney ABC Television Group and ESPN. The new ways to deliver the unmatched content will be shown as BAMTech and The Walt Disney Company work together across a variety of platforms.
